Facebook Groups for Business 👉 (27 Hacks and Tips)

So you finally started to focus on Facebook Groups for your business. Great! In this video, I'm going to share 27 different tips and hacks so that you can master Facebook marketing within your groups.

We'll cover three specific areas:

1. Growing your group (0:48)
2. Increasing engagement within your community (3:09)
3. How to use your Facebook group as a tool within your business (11:49)

You'll learn things such as how to get people to automatically join your group, how to utilize your group to build your email list, and even how to get the members of your group to tell you exactly what they'd want to pay for.

I've personally built several Groups on Facebook, and they're an extremely powerful asset that you can have within your overall business. More than business and money, however, it's a great way to really connect with your target audience and true fans, and a platform to test new ideas, pre-sell your upcoming products, and survey your target market so that you can remove the guesswork when it comes to what actions you need to take next.

The question I see fairly frequently is whether to build a Facebook group around a business, or around the personality / person? What would you say are the benefits and potential challenges for either kind of group?

    • Jimmy Le January 29, 2018 at 6:06 pm #

Mike Lasswell he actually goes into this in his Byob free course about the pros and cons of a personal brand or a company brand.

    Back to this video…

As a Community Strategist I loved the tactics that you shared to help create a positive experience for your members on FB. And I love how you showed screenshots as well. Not to mention your bloopers…Hilarious!

One thing that not many people seem to talk about though is when and IF a free Facebook group is actually a good fit for your business in the first place.

Iā€™d love to know your perspective on this Pat.

Pulling the trigger on a community can seem like a simple decision but many people donā€™t fully understand the amount of time and energy they require on a weekly and even daily basis.

For many entrepreneurs (especially those starting their business on the side) their limited time and energy is better spent growing their email list with stackable traffic sources (like guest posts, podcast interviews etc).

I discussed this in a recent guest post I wrote for GrowthLab.com and the #1 response in the comments was relief at having permission NOT to create a free group (at least yet). Apparently a lot of new entrepreneurs worry about this.

If anyone is on the fence for creating a free group, you can check out the article here: https://growthlab.com/a-free-facebook-group-isnt-the-magic-bullet-you-think-it-is/

Not only do I use a Jurassic Park metaphor to make my point (Jeff Goldbloom in daā€™house)…I made my own GIFs for the occasion. True story. šŸ˜‰

Looking forward to seeing more of your videos Pat! I hit the bell!!! Ding!

Thanks. Great tips. The tip that I can see using immediately is attaching it to an email signature. Cheers.

  10. Blessed or Messy w/ Franki January 30, 2018 at 10:14 pm #

Thanks. The tip I can see using immediately is adding my Facebook group link to email. I also didnā€™t know that there was a way to check who post and or contributes the most in a group. Lots of good info shared.
    Cheers.

Pat thanks for reminding people that social media is there to be social. Posting only ads for your business is not giving value to your audience and the fastest way to watch your numbers go down.

In answer to your question, love this style of video!
