Amazon DEVASTATES Affiliates 👉 Alternatives to Amazon Associates Affiliate Program

Looking for alternatives to Amazon's Associates Affiliate program? Amazon recently announced that by April 21st, commissions will be cut drastically, and lots of affiliates are looking for alternatives.

This is especially a tough time for those who relied heavily on Amazon Associates for income. In this video, I talk very little about why this happened, and instead offer a number of alternatives that you may be able to use instead.

If you're not sure where to start, or you're feeling really lost in terms of what to do next, I recommend checking out this page my team and I put together to help those in need right now, including some of my courses and material that we're making free during this time to help you start something new:

Most of all, I think the biggest lesson here is this: when you're playing in someone else's sandbox, and you build businesses on other platforms that have ultimate control over you and your destiny, it can lead to drastic life-changing moments like this. Diversity is key, owning an email list is always recommended, and learning how to best serve that audience, through affiliate recommendations, and offering your own products, can help you stay afloat when certain parts of the system go down.

Wishing you all the best, and I hope this video was helpful to you. If you think it would be helpful for others, please feel free to share this. Also, please hit the thumbs up button if you'd like to say thanks!

For those of us who do diversity, it still is a huge bummer to lose this income.

    • Pat Flynn April 17, 2020 at 4:17 pm #

It is definitely a bummer – it was so easy and simple before.

Thank you so much for this Pat!

Pat for president !! Oh, wait. I meant great value as always!! 😀

    • Pat Flynn April 17, 2020 at 4:18 pm #

That would be a very difficult position to take at this time. But hey, who knows!

Pat Flynn I can only say it (“with love & integrity “) because you earned that trust. And GG is all about love & integrity!

Sad. Amazon is gonna get even richer when they role out the delivery drones anyways xD

    • Pat Flynn April 17, 2020 at 4:20 pm #

      Insane.

    • Anton Wong Video April 17, 2020 at 4:57 pm #

I mean, they’re going to be richer but I don’t think rolling out the delivery drones will be an instant money maker. The things they do are always looking at least 10 years ahead. they love operating at a loss or breaking even.

    • J19 Games April 17, 2020 at 5:08 pm #

@Anton Wong Video Yeah, it’ll take time. “When” definitely wasn’t a good word choice on my part

Ouch, that’s tough… Pat, I love how you always share up to date super helpful info, thanks for this vid

    • Pat Flynn April 17, 2020 at 4:21 pm #

Thanks Pao – it was a tough video to create because I know how this change affects loads of lives, especially it happening on top of this crisis right now 🙁

It’s so interesting. When I think about this, I can see it from the perspective that it isn’t Amazon’s responsibility to provide non-employees with a living wage. I mean, that’s the straight-up fact. I can also see it from the perspective that Amazon has enjoyed huge increases in revenue because of their affiliate program, and so not only are they shooting those affiliates in the foot, they’re shooting themselves in the foot, too. Hmm…

  9. redhotmustang April 17, 2020 at 4:14 pm #

This exactly what I’ve been thinking for the past few months: “Is Amazon really interested in continuing with their affiliate program?”. I mean, the way they’ve been treating us, affiliates, cleary shows they aren’t. An example would be their complete lack of support (and up-to-date documentation) for those wanting to update their applications and scripts to the new Product Advertising API 5, not to speak about their commission rate that is going down and down and down making it not worth it to continue to promote their products. I’d rather they would just announce they are shutting down the Associates Program once and for all.

  10. Malini Sarma April 17, 2020 at 4:15 pm #

Thank you for this. Definitely helps as an alternate to Amazon.

  11. Owolabby Azeez April 17, 2020 at 4:21 pm #

Also y’all should look into promoting Rakuten. They give $25 for every referral. Pay out every 3 months tho.

“We hope you are well during this time…” – and we’re about to make it worse for you. What a disservice to the publishers that helped build Amazon to what it is. This is even more inspiration to make and sell your own products.

    • Anton Wong Video April 17, 2020 at 5:01 pm #

I wouldn’t say publishers “made amazon what it is”. BUT, if they screwed over their sellers, specifically FBA, then they might be in a little bit of trouble.
However it does suck that associates have decreased revenue. and yeah, all the more reason to diversify revenue streams!

Just when I was finally going to start doing affiliate marketing they do something like this thanks for the information I’ll use it

It is going to be really hard to get into the Target program, they are run by Acceleration Partners that filters through applications hard core. Make sure your application is tight.

Thanks for the great video and positivity.
I want to learn more about creating a virtual product. Any recommendations?

  17. Adam Tatusko April 17, 2020 at 5:15 pm #

Pat, because I care about you and your financial well-being, I suggest that you change your thumbnail for this video. By corrupting Amazon’s federally trademarked logo from the orange “smile” to the “frown,” you are subjecting your highly influential and globally exposed company to intellectual property and malicious corporate disparagement lawsuits. This is just my recommendation. All the best! #TeamFlynn

  18. DanPatchVideos April 17, 2020 at 5:16 pm #

Amazon is going to end up driving a lot of business to other retailers in the end – interesting!

    • ThatOrganicMom April 17, 2020 at 6:51 pm #

DanPatchVideos I won’t be shopping amazon anymore. I quit using Walmart in 2012.

  19. Scott Tovey April 17, 2020 at 5:23 pm #

    Hmm?
I think that Amazon is going to find out that this was no different than shooting oneself in the foot. Especially if all the affiliates stop promoting Amazon links.
