I will be the first to admit that I am still a student of marketing and in this video, I share one of the most expensive lessons I have learnt after spending millions of dollars to acquire a software doodle company.
At first, I thought to myself; "Bad news, you just bought a failing business…what next? Then I went to work.
Here is what I did to turn this failing business into one of the greatest ClickFunnels affiliates of all time.

LOVE THESE VIDEOS 🙂
This is just what I am doing right now. Looking to acquire. Love the sponsor for this video too 😀
Long time and lifetime Doodly customer. Have not logged in or used for years. I guess I need to.
Same!
I bought doodly years ago and haven’t used it in a long time. I did see an email to update several months ago and haven’t. I guess I need to see what that was all about.
Russell what’s ur take on someone who is inexperienced initially to attract clients when all clients want is a person with 2-3 yrs of experience in handling the projects but market is not ready to accept fresher candidates but demand too much ? Is being a generalist a good idea or is it creating the unique value which is important in such a situation.. how can a solopreneur create space for himself in the early days without wasting time…
Russell would say: Work for free until your results speak for themselves.
@Björn Mayer Yes that’s exactly what I did when I started. Just make sure to get a testimonial either written or on video so you can use that to market your services to new clients. Social proof is very important when starting out.
What is the first thing you would do if you took over ClickFunnels?
I would go Spanish…first.
not sure why my reply here was deleted? if you ask for honest feedback, why then delete the comments?
I actually promoted doodly software way back when it was just come out. And unfortunately couldn’t find the right angle to promote it so I didn’t but it looked so cool then and I cant imagine how cool it is now especially since you aquire it, I will definitely try it myself this time around.
Awesome story! Cool to see it from all angles
Looking at processes seems like business buying 101
Enjoyed this episode ❤️
Congrats for turning it around! But I can not believe that this happened to Russel and cf. How in the world !?! This should not happen to a 9-Figure Company.
Thanks for sharing your journey, I hope you keep documenting it for the world 😀
Thank you Russell for sharing… Lots of new learning from this.. This gives a bigger vision how we should look at building our own business
That section bridging the gap was so powerful !
Amazing story, great info, overall I am loving this format!
The top most reason I love to watch Russell’s videos and podcast is, “You are even sharing the thoughts that have gone through your mind in different scenarios and situations”.
That itself a big learning point and priceless insights for all listners.
Great video, I loved it! One quick question: Russel said there were 100 employees when they took over the company. What could 100 people do with such a simple software? No offense, I am honestly curoius.
