A while back, I published the most popular podcasting tutorial on YouTube, and in this video I wanted to make sure you have all of the latest and greatest information so that you can get your podcast setup the right way.
Podcasting has changed my life! It's helped me build a huge audience, develop a deeper relationship with my subscribers and customers, make more money, and most importantly make a bigger impact in the world.
All you need to do now is take action and learn how to start a podcast!
In this particular video, I'll be highlighting the equipment and software you need to get started – all without breaking the bank. My goal is to take away all of the excuses you have that are holding you back from starting your podcast. Trust me, because it took me forever to start my podcast back in July of 2010.
Things have changed since then (hint: it's A LOT easier to start a podcast today than it was before), and so make sure you watch through this video about equipment and software, and then subscribe so you don't miss the other two videos in this tutorial series!

My 10 year old son who has just started listening to wrestling podcasts 5 days ago came to me today with his ideas for a wrestling podcast he wants us to do together aimed more towards kids than adults. I was very impressed with his whole presentation but totally daunted on how to do this. Thankfully some podcasts I listen to said on Twitter they had listened to your youtube videos before they started their shows. After just 1 video this seems far more doable and I will download the cheat sheet too. I appreciate you doing these videos. I think this will be a great experience for both my son and I.
it sure will!
come tell us once you create it…Your son had a great idea… my kids would listen to it !! Awesome son and father opportunity to grow a business together
I really like kids who have the initiative to do things and creative ideas. Can’t wait to hear the progress of the podcast.
I love this. I’m sure you will both do great!
your son sounds like an entrepreneurial young man! good luck, from one wrestler to another
Pat!!! #TeamFlynn!!! Just uploaded my first Episode to ITunes!! Thank you thank you!!!!!
Me too. Mine’s called “Brothers Who Spoon.” What is yours called?
pooperscoop54321 Journey Through the Gate Paranormal Portal Podcast
Sysco Murdoch NOT on Google? I’m a Coast2Coast fan so yours sounded interesting.
What if i have multiple mics and only one PC or laptop to Plug in ?
An audio interface would help you
On a Mac, and I bet there is a way to do this on pc, if you plug in two usb mics, you can create an aggregate audio device and record on two tracks simultaneously on GarageBand. Again, I only know Mac but there are great videos and online tutorials on how to do this without an external mixer
*shows equipment to use* me: uses $35 headphones from walmart also me: ‘That’s Good enough!’
TheAmazingArch yep
Is your setup different that what you recommended? I like the Rich sound you have. How do you accomplish this? Thanks!
I’m starting a Premier League Podcast.
Let’s get it imma support you.
Could you go over having a 2 or even 3 person setup?
Colin Redmann I’ve seen a 6 person podcast before and it was neat was just a big group chill session .
You would probably need a mixer so you could have multiple inputs
This is a very helpful guide and I appreciate your time and effort you put into your videos. Thank you!
Equipment: Headphones, Audio Card, Microphone, and stuff.
Me: Phone and FLStudio
Yeah that’s about right
Good looks bro respect to the grind and knowledge
A little shady that you posted 2018 but this went up 2019
Hi Pat, I’m starting a podcast and was told by a friend who works in the podcast space that I should trademark my (podcast) name. What do you think? I’ve heard different opinions on this…..Thanks!
