FAMILY FIRST come on! (Well, God first, but family is like a close second/tie! God should be first for the Whole family, so they go together real nice. 😉
When he says God and family first, he is expressing a Mormon view. Which is NOT the same as traditional American values. Be cautious. Decide what YOU believe. Then live by it.
“Those who do not know what they Stand for … will Fall for almost anything.”
This sounds great. But, it’s NOT Complete. These gurus offer up “opinion”. Which is a private interpretation of their own experiences, desires, beliefs. That is NOT universally applicable. Nor necessarily right for other people. Like you and me.
How can I make such a bold, brazen, sweeping, seemingly arrogant claim? I didn’t. Napoleon Hill did. So, what are his credentials?
He wrote the famed 1937 self-help book “Think and Grow Rich”. After 20 years of criss-crossing America, to interview then analyze 504 super achievers. Survey 16,000 ordinary people. Train 30,000 salespeople. Lecture to uncounted numbers of students in person and on radio, then TV.
His book has sold over 60,000,000 copies. And still sells 100,000 each year.
So, what is Hill’s definition of “Success”. It’s a balance of THREE distinctly individual components. Not offered in any given order of priority, since ALL.3 are Necessary.
— Happiness (joy, sense of contributory value, life fulfillment, warm and loving relationships)
— Peace of Mind (freedom from gnawing anxiety, fear, doubt, neuroticism)
— Financial Security (safety, autonomy, abundance)
I emphasize Balance. Too many people foolishly, expediently short-cut one of the 3 to get another. This may produce a temporary gain. But can NOT last a life time. Sooner or later, you must “pay the piper”.
